What does the Shakespeare Hospice offer?
The Shakespeare Hospice provides care and support for members of our community whose lives have been affected by serious illness.
Why is it recommended?
The Hospice’s Day Hospice in Stratfordupon- Avon provides physical, psychological and spiritual support, as well as information and friendship. The Day Hospice also assists those who are caring for a seriously ill person; at the Day Hospice, all the complimentary therapies and services available to patients are also available to those who care for them. For those too ill to travel to the Day Hospice, The Shakespeare Hospice’s Hospice at Home nurses can provide care and support in their patients’ homes. This enables more seriously ill people to receive high quality hospice care while remaining in the comfort of their own home.
How is the Hospice funded?
The Hospice’s invaluable work is almost exclusively funded by the generous support it receives from the community it serves; less than 5% of the Hospice’s funding comes from the NHS.There are various ways you can assist The Shakespeare Hospice including volunteering, small monthly gifts or gifts in wills. You can also take part in a wide range of fundraising events and two of the Hospice’s biggest (and most exciting) events in 2011 will be their Moonlit Walk and The Great Shakespeare Ride. |
